The Rays hold on to beat the Red Sox. The Rays got off to a much needed hot start. Yandy Diaz hit the first pitch the Rays sent it 390 ft into the left field seats to give the Rays a 1-0 day. In a bullpen game for the Rays they would shine. It started with 4 great innings from Ian Seymour only allowing 1 run. Then a combination of Casey Legumina, Cam Booser, Kevin Kelly Garrett Cleavinger, and Bryan Baker did not allow any runs and shut the door on the Sox. The Rays got the lead back in the 5th inning on a Jonathan Aranda 2 out RBI single to make it 2-1. Yandy Diaz would give the Rays some much needed insurance in the 8th inning off a Sac fly to make it 3-1. Bryan Baker would shut it down in the 9th to seal a much needed win for the Rays. The Rays will look to take the series tomorrow night vs the Red Sox.
