#466: Insane Neighbors & 5 Questions | OBB Benched | Toots & Eileen

Published 9 hours ago
Description

Instead of video game covers, saving college sports or recruiting dominance... we're talking fanson the court, ass slaps, horrific drivers, insane neighbors and unjust arrests. Welcome to OBB Benched!

The guys open on Game 1 of the NBA Finals and the fan who rushed the court to get a selfie with Victor Wembanyama — and got banned from every arena in the league for life without even getting the picture. This somehow becomes a debate about tiered punishments for court invasions and whether facial recognition will actually stop him from sneaking back in.

From there it's 1994 flashbacks: the last time the Knicks led in an NBA Finals was June 17th, 1994 — the same night OJ Simpson's white Bronco was rolling down the 405 in the lower corner of every TV in America. The guys trade "where were you" stories that end up at the Challenger disaster and Mr. Witkowski's art class.

The Sean Avery neighbor story spawns an entirely new word for the English language. A man who allegedly had his neighbor Venmo hookers to his house, call the cops, and then watched it backfire when Avery wasn't home — which leads to a bit about sending Toots and Eileen to your enemies. Welcome to twatting. The guys run with it for a while.

Also in this episode: a deep dive on Popstroke (Tiger Woods' upscale putt-putt concept), Scoop's case for never making small talk with cashiers, Billy the Greatest Neighbor Ever who blows everyone's driveway twice a day and threw a party with "not too much weed," the best morning radio pranks that would never fly today, and a firefighter coworker who accidentally turned himself several shades darker via melanin peptides.

Five Questions wraps it up: your name on one building or arena, the most undeniable celebrity in her prime, best prank you've ever pulled, the city with the worst vibes, and one word you'd get tattooed on your body.

The episode title debate at the end is genuinely funny. "Toots and Eileen" won.
