The time is now 12:02 AM in New York, I'm Noa Levi and this is the latest Israel Today: Ongoing War Report.

In Operation Lion's Roar, the Israeli Air Force struck military targets in western and central Iran on Monday, in response to an Iranian missile attack on Israel, the IDF confirmed. The strikes were described as targeting radar sites and other military infrastructure. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the strikes were carried out with air-launched ballistic missiles. Among the targets reported as hit are Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, a drone assembly warehouse in Najafabad, a possible assassination attempt and/or an IRGC facility in Eslamabad-e Gharb, a ballistic missile site in Tabriz, and roughly 15 targets in Shiraz and Ilam, plus a missile site on Kharg Island. The strikes come as Israeli officials weighed a significant response to Tehran’s ceasefire breach. The IDF Chief of Staff and the Israeli Air Force commander were in the war room coordinating the operation, and the military reiterated it remained at the highest level of readiness to continue actions across fronts if necessary. Reports of explosions were observed in Tehran, Tabriz, and Isfahan as the strike campaign unfolded. Ambassadors and Israeli officials pointed to ongoing operations, with statements noting that targets include ground-to-ground missile launch sites and other infrastructure not related to energy.

In Direct Israel-Iran Clashes, an Iranian hardline outlet suggested that public messaging from US President Donald Trump could be part of a tactical deception, as Iranian media reported explosions in several cities following alleged Israeli strikes. The report also claimed Azerbaijan may have been used as a route for Israeli drones or aircraft, while Azerbaijan denies allowing its territory or airspace to be used against Iran; Azerbaijani officials spoke with Iranian counterparts after the attack. Raja News alleged attacks on Tehran and Karaj originated from the Caspian Sea, and that strikes on Tabriz came from northern Iraq, with other targets in Khorramabad and Kermanshah carried out from Iraqi territory. Bottom line reports described Iran firing 11 missiles toward northern Israel, with Israel replying by striking targets across Iran, including ground-to-ground missile launch sites, factories and plants manufacturing weapons and ammunition, air defense and radar systems, and a Yemeni Houthi missile later intercepted over central Israel. Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter warned that Iran’s 11 ballistic missiles could level neighborhoods, and that Israel is now targeting Iranian missile-launch sites and non-energy infrastructure. US commentator Ambassador Mike Huckabee echoed strong support for Israel, while an initial IDF spokesperson note indicated a missile was launched from Yemen toward Israeli territory and was being intercepted. The scene was further complicated by reports that the Houthis in Yemen launched a ballistic missile toward central Israel, which Israel’s air defenses intercepted.

In Iranian Retaliation, Israeli officials assess a high probability of an Iranian response and say the country is fully prepared for any escalation. Prime Minister and Defense Minister held consultations with the IDF leadership and heads of security agencies, and, following those meetings, decided to carry out retaliatory strikes in Iran. Politically, the message is explicit: any attack from Iran will be met with a powerful response, and any fire from Lebanon toward Israel will trigger strikes on Hezbollah targets in the Dahieh district of Beirut.

In Regional Impacts, a senior official told Channel 14 News that the region stands at the threshold of several days of battle against the Iranians and their affiliates in the Middle East.<
