Sydney gang boss Lorenzo Lemalu, the 24-year-old Coconut Cartel leader gunned down in Vietnam last month, was buried at Lakemba under heavy police escort. Gunmen attacked a function centre where his parents planned a viewing of his body less than 24 hours before the funeral, firing more than a dozen bullets into the venue and torching a car nearby. Police deployed dozens of officers on the ground and in the air to secure the graveside funeral, whilst investigating yesterday's shooting and monitoring who might emerge as the next cartel leader.
