Dawa Sherpa, a 52-year-old Nepalese sherpa, survived nearly a week stranded on Mount Everest without food or water in the Death Zone, where oxygen levels are too low for human survival. His family had begun performing funeral rituals when he was spotted crawling down the mountain. He appears to be in good health apart from frostbitten hands.
