Dustin Huff, and his partner, Yurui Xie, were taken into custody and charged criminally in December 2023, after their six-year-old son told his school that he didn't to go home because his dad locked him in a cage. Gainesville Police in Florida went to the couple's home to investigate and found the cages. The investigation was recorded by body-worn cameras.
