🎙️ How to ask follow-up questions in Luxembourgish

Episode 120 Published 1 month ago
Description

One thing we notice very often in our Luxembourgish classes:

Many learners can answer questions perfectly well…

…but after 2 sentences, the conversation dies 😅

Beispill:

“War däi Weekend flott?”

“Jo. An däin?”

“Majo, och flott.”

And then …… silence.

The problem is usually not grammar.

It’s that many learners were taught how to ANSWER questions but not how to KEEP a conversation going.

One small thing can change everything:

👉 Ask follow-up questions.

Instead of:

“War däi Weekend flott?”

try:

“Wat hues du de Weekend gemaach?”

or

“Wéi war däi Weekend?”

Suddenly, the conversation becomes much more natural.

This is actually one of the most important speaking skills:

not only knowing Luxembourgish… but knowing how to continue the interaction naturally.

I talk about this in the newest podcast episode and share simple ways to make conversations flow more naturally in Luxembourgish 🎧
