Driverless taxis could be coming to Sydney

Waymo's driverless taxi service operates in 11 American cities, completing more than half a million autonomous trips per week since launching in 2020. The company is in discussions with Australian regulators about bringing its self-driving technology to Sydney, with NSW Premier Chris Minns expressing support for the initiative. Transport for New South Wales is monitoring developments but has not made any decisions about autonomous vehicles operating in the state.
