This Friday, June 5, is National Gun Violence Awareness Day, and local advocates are taking the opportunity to share firearm safety tips. Aaron welcomes Orange County Public Health Education Manager Marcy Williams and UNC Police Lt. James David, both of whom are on the Orange Firearm Safety Team; they discuss the larger issue of gun violence in America and what we can do about it, from safe firearm storage to mental health resources.

As part of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, local officials will gather for a proclamation at 9 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Peace & Justice Plaza on East Franklin Street in downtown Chapel Hill. Everyone’s welcome to attend.
