Description

Welcome to History's Not Boring by Kidopoly.com with Mira and Finn! Have you ever wondered what happened when the whole world ran out of money? In 1929, an event called Black Tuesday changed everything! The stock market crashed, and in just a few hours, billionaires lost everything. Over the next four years, thousands of banks closed, and one in four people couldn't find a job!

But that wasn't all! In the Midwest, a terrible drought turned rich farmland into the scary Dust Bowl. Giant, black walls of dirt actually blotted out the sun! Families had to pack everything they owned onto their cars and drive out West just to find work. It was a really tough time for the whole world.

But don't worry, hope was on the way! A new president named Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected with a big promise called the New Deal. He helped put millions of people back to work building the roads, bridges, and giant dams we still use today! Join Mira and Finn as we explore the hardest decade of the 20th century, and learn how countries figured out how to protect everyday people from ever falling that far again!
