Queensland teen charged over alleged school terror plot

Published 3 weeks ago
Description
A 13-year-old Queensland boy has been charged with violent extremism offences after counter-terrorism police allegedly uncovered a plot to attack Albert State Primary School in Maryborough on the Fraser Coast. The teenager was initially arrested at a Maryborough service station after allegedly threatening people with a knife while wearing a balaclava and attempting to steal a car, telling officers he had wanted to kill people for months. Counter-terrorism detectives raided his home two days after his initial release and allegedly found violent extremist material on his devices, leading to his re-arrest and bail refusal at Hervey Bay Children's Court.
