Episode 252
Published 4 days, 19 hours ago
Description
More parents are quietly dealing with a painful reality they never expected — fear inside their own home. From being cursed at and threatened to even experiencing physical violence from their children, many mothers and fathers say they feel ashamed, isolated, and afraid to speak publicly about what’s happening behind closed doors. Studies suggest that between 5% and 21% of parents experience physical violence from a child at some point, while verbal and emotional abuse may be even more common. In some areas, child-to-parent incidents account for nearly 7–10% of domestic violence calls, especially involving teens between the ages of 12 and 18. In this emotional and controversial Daily Dilemma, we ask the question many families are afraid to discuss: Are parents starting to fear their own children? And if a child squares up to a parent, is that a parenting problem, a cultural problem, or both? Catch the Daily Dilemma every weekday from 2:20 pm on Majic 102.1 or the Majic 102.1 app.
