Push to downgrade Middle East travel warnings

Push to downgrade Middle East travel warnings

Published 3 weeks, 1 day ago
Description
Australian travel industry leaders are urging the federal government to downgrade level 4 travel warnings for Middle Eastern airports in Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi to level 3, which would allow Australians transiting through these hubs to access travel insurance coverage. Over 153,000 Australians have already transited through the Middle East in recent weeks, and countries including Germany, France, England and Ireland have already reduced their warnings to level 3. The Australian Travel Industry Association argues the current classification doesn't match the lived experience of travellers safely transiting through these airports on their way to Europe, India and Africa.
