in Episode 2026_22 of The Martial Arts Lifestyle Podcast, host Tim Becherer interviews Long Beach California based martial artist, instructor, and fight promoter Ron Smith. Ron is one of the senior instructors/coaches at Long Beach Kickboxing which is the oldest Southeast Asian kickboxing school in Southern California. The unique thing about Long Beach Kickboxing is that it is the Cambodian kickboxing art of Pradal Serey. Ron came to Long Beach kickboxing after trying out traditional martial arts like Tang Soo Do. Ron had the desire to compete and traveled competing in boxing first and eventually kickboxing/Muay Thai. After a career of fighting, he stayed on as a coach and a fight promoter. Ron still coaches fighters and non figthers alike at the Long Beach school. Tune in and hear his story.
