When We Don’t Know If It’s Time

Sometimes we wish things could stay the same forever.

Sometimes we wish things were already over.

The hard part for many of us is knowing when it’s time.

Time to keep going.

Time to let go.

Time to wait.

Or time to begin again.

In Genesis we are told that there will be signs

for seasons

and for days

and for years.

We do not want to hold on too long.

And we do not want to give up too early.

We do not want fear to make the decision for us.

Or impatience.

Or exhaustion.

So we keep paying attention.

Listening.

Watching.

Trusting that in time,

what needs to become clear

will become clear.
