When We Feel the Pressure To Be Productive
We live with a lot of pressure
to produce.
To be productive.
To deliver results.
To accomplish
something worthwhile.
And sometimes,
without even realizing it,
we begin to measure our value
by what we achieve.
But the call to be fruitful
in Genesis
was never about proving ourselves.
Before humanity
accomplishes anything,
God calls creation good.
“God blessed them, saying,
‘Be fruitful and multiply.’”
— from Genesis 1:22
Fruitfulness is not about
proving our worth.
It is about taking part
in the goodness
that is already present.
It is about doing the things we do
that make the world
a little better
for someone else
and a little warmer
for ourselves.
