The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has reached a grim new milestone as the death toll continues to climb. International aid commitments have been drastically reduced from $700 million to $400 million, leaving health workers without adequate resources including vaccines, soap and running water. The first successfully treated Ebola patient has been released from hospital, but it will be weeks before medical crews are properly equipped to treat all suspected cases.
