A former Mississippi pastor and teacher will spend 25 years in prison without the possibility for parole. 32-year-old Kyle Hilleary, who was on staff at Cedar View Baptist Church in Olive Branch at the time of his 2023 arrest, was sentenced on one count of child exploitation. State Rep. Jansen Owen will not look to retain his seat in the legislature with his eyes set on transitioning to being a public servant in the courtroom. Owen, a Republican from Poplarville, announced Thursday that he is running to become the next district attorney for the 15th Circuit Court District in Mississippi in 2027.
