Pope Leo appointed Scarriff native Archbishop Eugene Nugent as the new Papal Nuncio to the Czech Republic.
For the past 5 years, Archbishop Eugene has served as Papal Nuncio in the Gulf region, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar.
Archbishop Eugene served as a priest here in Ennis from 1984-1987 and joined us in our Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes last year.
