When Mercy Offends
Description
Jonah’s story doesn’t end with revival—it ends with a rebuke. After the greatest awakening in Scripture, Jonah is angry… not at sin, but at grace. In this final message, Dr. Michael Youssef opens Jonah 4 and exposes a danger that still threatens believers today: resenting God’s mercy when it reaches people we don’t think deserve it.
Chapter 4 reveals a divided heart—more attached to personal ease than eternal souls. Dr. Youssef calls the Church to repent of self-centered faith and submit to the sovereign will of God. Scripture is clear: salvation belongs to the Lord, and mercy flows from His righteous character. Christ alone defines who is saved and how.
This episode calls believers to:
- Repent of comfort-first Christianity,
- Rejoice when sinners repent,
- Intercede instead of criticize,
- Love what God loves—and trust His mercy and justice.
True joy is not found in the vine, but in obedience to the God of mercy.
Scripture Focus: Jonah 4; Exodus 34:6–7; Luke 15:7; Romans 9:15–16
