Kevin Hart is trying to defend himself AGAIN after the backlash surrounding Tony Hinchcliffe’s George Floyd joke during Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart. Kevin went on The Breakfast Club and later posted on Instagram claiming people are running with narratives and not doing their research, saying comedians operate on their own and nobody controls what another comic says.

Reports have already confirmed that Netflix and HIS production team DID remove several other controversial jokes from the special before release, including jokes involving Lizzo,  politics and more.

That’s why a lot of people online are now asking: if the production team had enough control to cut multiple other jokes, then why was the George Floyd joke left in? And honestly, this latest Instagram response may have made things even worse because now people feel Kevin Hart is trying to distance himself from a situation he was heavily involved in producing through Netflix and Heartbeat Productions. The backlash keeps growing, George Floyd’s family has publicly condemned the joke, and this entire situation is turning into a much bigger conversation about accountability, comedy, controversy and where the line should be.
