 If We Are Created In The Image Of God

“All of us have some measure of power,

authority,

responsibility.

The question is not whether we have it.

The question is how we use it.

In Genesis we read:

‘Then God said, “Let us make humans in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion…”’

— from Genesis 1:26

People often hear the word dominion

and imagine control,

the power to take, keep, and exploit.

But the God whose image we bear

creates and cultivates life,

brings order from chaos,

and calls creation good.

So if we are created in the image of God,

what image are we reflecting

in the way we care for one another and the world around us?

In the way we:

lead,

serve,

build?

The calling of humanity

is not simply to rule—

but to reflect the life nurturing love

of the One whose image we bear.
