Children's concussion recovery faster with early treatment
Published 3 weeks, 5 days ago
Description
New Australian research shows children with concussion recover much faster when treatment starts early, with 30% of kids developing ongoing symptoms for days or even weeks after a head knock. Warning signs include headaches, nausea, dizziness, confusion, fatigue, anxiety and unusual behaviour. A trial at Murdoch Children's Research Institute found that children receiving specialist treatment including physiotherapy, brain checks and psychological support were far more likely to fully recover than those left to rest at home.
