Kevin Hart is now responding to the massive backlash surrounding Tony Hinchcliffeās George Floyd joke from the new Netflix special, and honestlyā¦ this situation may have just gotten even worse.
Kevin Hart recently appeared on The Breakfast Club and tried to distance himself from the joke, saying he didnāt like it and calling it disgusting. But we quickly pulled up clips from the actual Netflix special showing Kevin Hart laughing, pointing at Tony Hinchcliffe, and reacting like the joke was funny. So now people online are accusing Kevin Hart of being caught lying in 4K.
And this is where things get messy.
A lot of people feel like Kevin Hart is trying to play both sides. On one hand apologizing and acting disappointed, but on the other hand still using the controversy to bring attention to the Netflix special, Heartbeat Productions, and the overall rollout. Critics are now asking if Kevin Hart genuinely disagreed with the jokeā¦ or if he only changed his tone once the backlash from the Black community started getting louder online.
Personally, I think this situation now looks worse than the original joke itself because people can forgive bad judgment sometimes, but when the internet feels like youāre being fake or trying to rewrite history after getting caught on camera, thatās when trust starts disappearing fast.
