We also connect this warning to modern Christianity and the tendency to place confidence in spiritual experiences, charismatic personalities, and “anointed” leaders rather than in Christ Himself. Hebrews 3 calls believers to hold fast our confidence and boasting in Christ alone, reminding us that true faith is not built upon experiences, but upon the finished work and sufficiency of Jesus Christ.
