I will cut to the application chase in the show notes. Once you've thought through the illustration of the man scaling the brick wall, and considered how to pray, here is a list of areas where you might pray for BOTH success and failure:
1) Career and Education Choices (What if the ladder of success is a wall?)
2) Financial Wisdom and Independence (Is the "love of money" dangerous?)
3) Relationships, Particularly Marriage (What matters most here?)
4) Christian Service and Ministry (Who is this about?)
5) Physical Fitness (Do you want it if it becomes addictive?)
6) Knowledge (Defeat my sense of knowing if it makes me prideful)
Others may include:
- My Family's Worldly Success (Are we proud of the right things?)
- Being Right (Do we speak to win or to learn?)
- Comfort / Peaceful Living (If it makes us less like Jesus, is it good?)
- Popularity / Influence (What are the dangers if I am not prepared?)
