A Prayer for When We Can No Longer Pretend Everything Is Fine

Loving God,

sometimes we grow tired

of carrying the same burdens

day after day.

And eventually

we reach a point

where we can no longer pretend

everything is fine.

In those moments,

help us resist the temptation

to deny our distress

or hide from what is real.

Give us the courage

to admit

when we are struggling.

Give us the wisdom

to seek help

when our strength is waning

and our hearts are weary.

Give us the hope

to persevere

until we reach the other side.

Amen.
