'Largest energy crisis in history,' IEA chief warns as global fuel fears grow
Published 3 weeks, 2 days ago
Description
The world is experiencing the "largest energy crisis in history," according to Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
In a series of severe warnings culminating interview and a speech at the Chatham House think tank in London, Dr. Birol stated that the ongoing global fuel shock is significantly worse than the 1973 Mideast oil embargo, the 1979 Iranian Revolution, and the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine combined. The economic threat spans far beyond fuel, heavily strangling global agriculture, food production, and transport supply chains
