Description
Episode 424:
🎙️This Week on the CommanderSmiths Podcast! 🎙️
🤫 Shhh… it’s a Secret Lair. 🎲📦
This week we’ve got a mix of Commander drama, Secret Lair talk, and a HUGE Staple VS finale 😈🔥
First, we discuss the Goblinstorm deck selling out insanely fast and whether Wizards needs to rethink how these products are handled moving forward.
Then we break down the newest Secret Lair drop:
🐱 Cats Are the Best — Garfield Edition 🍝
Is this one worth buying… or just another pass?
And finally, we wrap things up with the championship matchup of the Fog Tournament 👀
🏆 Staple VS
🌫️ Obscuring Haze
VS
🛡️ Inkshield
Which Fog deserves the crown?!
💰 What Is Break Point (BP)?Break Point helps figure out how many drops you need to buy before one becomes “free.”
Because let’s be real — we all want that freebie drop for the shelf! 😎
How It Works:
1️⃣ Add up the lowest Foil + Non-Foil values.
2️⃣ Subtract fees, shipping, and the drop cost to find Net Profit.
3️⃣ Divide total profit by drop cost = your BP.
Example:
If a drop costs $40 and nets $80 → BP 2
If it nets $55 → BP 4
💡 Pro Tip: Prices often dip right after shipping but usually rebound (or climb higher) 10–16 months later. Patience = profit.
