Reactions to red states' efforts to gerrymander their districts for expanding Conservatives' control following the Supreme Court's  6-3 decision in Louisiana v. Callais, the Supreme Court upended the legal framework of the Voting Rights Act. The ruling struck down a Louisiana congressional map that included a second majority-Black district, heavily narrowing Section 2 protections and restricting the use of race in redistricting lawsuits.
