Description
Luna sits in a dressing room that was never meant for her, the script of the unfinished play open in her lap. The typewriter has stopped. The shadow woman is silent. But the theater is not done with her yet. She finds a locked drawer in the dressing table, opens it with a hairpin, and discovers a bundle of letters from a woman named Clara—an actress who played Marguerite in a single performance in 1947, then vanished. The letters reveal that the theater does not trap its cast; it consumes them, one scene at a time, until there is nothing left but the role. Luna realizes the final act of the play is her own life story, and the blank page at the end is waiting for her death. She must decide whether to leave the theater before the final scene is written, or stay and become part of its hungry history forever.
