The United States Forest Service (USFS) has advised the City of Cottonwood of their plans to enter Stage 1 Fire Restrictions on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 8 a.m. The City of Cottonwood will follow suit and manage our staged restriction in coordination with the posture of the USFS in order to simplify potential enforcement when challenges arise. Stage 1 Fire Restrictions prohibit the following: Igniting, building, maintaining, or using a fire, including charcoal and briquettes outside a fire structure that is provided by the Forest Service within a designated area.
