Finn MacCool and the Giant's Causeway

Published 1 month, 1 week ago
Description
This illustrated children’s book recounts the legendary Irish folk tale of the giant Finn MacCool and his conflict with a Scottish rival named Angus. After the two giants trade insults across the sea, they begin building a stone path to meet and fight, but Finn quickly becomes intimidated by his opponent’s massive size. To protect her husband, Finn’s clever wife Oona devises a plan to disguise the mighty warrior as a helpless infant in a large cradle. When Angus arrives, he is tricked into believing the "baby" is so strong and fierce that the father must be a terrifying titan beyond his capabilities. Terrified by the implications of the infant's strength, the Scottish giant flees back home, leaving Finn and Oona victorious through their wit rather than violence. This retelling serves as a traditional story designed to help children build reading stamina and vocabulary through engaging mythology.
