Yoshinobu Yamamoto was excellent for the Dodgers, allowing just one run over 7 innings. Unfortunately, Michael King was just a little more excellent-er for the Padres, tossing 7 shutout frames.
The Dodgers had their opportunities here and there with a huge moment in the 5th inning shining a spotlight on third base coach Dino Ebel. Should Dino have sent Hyeseong Kim? The blunder might not have mattered if Mookie Betts did anything offensively. Is the Dodgers offense actually bad? Or was it just bad today?
