Episode Details

South Carolina may have just made a MASSIVE move in the recruitment of five-star DB Joshua Dobson.

Just a few months ago, LSU looked like the clear favorite to land one of the nation’s top defensive backs. Now? Dobson has officially cancelled his visit to Baton Rouge, and the Gamecocks suddenly sit firmly in his top group as Shane Beamer and Torrian Gray continue building momentum on the recruiting trail.

On today’s episode, we break down:

Why Joshua Dobson cancelling his LSU visit is a HUGE development
How South Carolina worked its way back into contention
Why getting Dobson’s final official visit could be a game changer
Torrian Gray’s impact recruiting elite defensive backs
What this means for South Carolina’s 2027 recruiting class
Why momentum matters so much in modern recruiting

Then in Segment 2, we dive into the BIGGEST uphill battle South Carolina faces in recruiting and college athletics right now: booster donations and NIL support.

The numbers are staggering:

South Carolina reportedly brought in just over $17.5 million in booster donations last year
That ranked LAST in the SEC
Meanwhile, programs like Texas generated over $167 million

Can South Carolina realistically compete for championships while operating at that level financially? What has to change? And why does Shane Beamer’s recruiting success become even MORE impressive when viewed through that lens?
