EARTHLY KINGS TOOK PRIDE IN GRANTING THE REQUESTS OF THEIR SUBJECTS. SHALL NOT THE KING OF KINGS DELIGHT IN ANSWERING OUR PRAYERS LIKE HE DID FOR JABEZ?

Esther 5:3

Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

Luke 18:1-8

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Psalm 65:2

O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

1 Chronicles 4:10

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Psalm 91:15

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

JABEZ WAS ANSWERED AND HONORED BY GOD BECAUSE HE PRAYED

Psalm 34:3-6

O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. 4I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. 6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

Isaiah 65:24

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Psalm 145:18-19

The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. 19He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

ANYTIME IS PRAYER TIME NEHEMIAH PRAYED WHILE HE WAS TALKING TO THE KING!

Nehemiah 2:4

Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

There is no time or place in which it is inappropriate to offer up a petition to God. There is nothing that can prevent us from lifting up our hearts in the spirit of earnest prayer. In the crowds of the street, in the midst of a business engagement, we may send up a petition to God and plead for divine guidance, as did Nehemiah when he made hisrequest before King Artaxerxes. A closet of communion may be found wherever we are. – {Steps to Christ p. 99.1}

Psalm 55:16-17

As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. 17Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
