Journalist Elle Halliwell was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia and discovered 48 hours later that she was pregnant. Initially advised to terminate her pregnancy to begin urgent cancer treatment, she travelled to Adelaide where Professor Timothy Hughes developed a treatment plan allowing her to safely continue the pregnancy. Ten years later, Elle remains on treatment in molecular remission, and her son Tor has met the doctor who made his life possible.
