Experience Over Eighty Years of Airborne Legacy at the New Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum

The Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum, after decades of planning, finally opens its doors this Friday on Fort Campbell property. This new museum, five times bigger than its predecessor, showcases the history of the one hundred first Airborne Division from World War Two to the present, including exhibits of uniforms, gear, weapons, and even an early night vision device and a Honest John missile.

Highlights include a MH-forty-seven Chinook helicopter from the Osama bin Laden raid mission, complete with vibrating seats, cockpit sounds, flight visuals, and combat noise. Visitors can also see gear from the Night Stalkers early Little Bird aircraft and ops taking out Saddam Husseins sons.

The museum also features personal items from Adolf Hitler, grabbed by the troops and shown publicly for the first time. Visitors can learn about the one hundred firsts role in enforcing school desegregation in Little Rock under President Eisenhower.

The museum is open to everyone, starting this Friday, offering a unique opportunity to step into over eighty years of airborne legacy.
