Story Transcript:
En: The early morning air was sharp and clear in the Cederberg Mountains, where the autumn mist enveloped the world in silent thoughts.
En: The mountains stood tall, powerful, and wise.
En: It was in this place that Annelize, Freek, and Johan gathered, in an attempt to find peace after the recent loss of their parents.
En: Annelize, the eldest, clutched the bag containing their parents' ashes tightly against her, while Freek and Johan walked shortly behind her.
En: Freek, with his usual bravado, picked up a stick and tapped it over the rocks, as if he wanted to break the silence.
En: But deep inside, he felt despondency, something he didn't easily admit.
En: Johan, remained behind, with his thoughts deeply caught in the past, slowly trying to trace the meaning of their parents' last fading moments.
En: Annelize knew she had to be strong.
En: It was her idea to bring the ashes here.
En: Their parents had loved this place, and she was determined to fulfill their last wish.
En: But first, she had to address her own and her brothers' pain.
En: At the top of the last cliff, she stopped and turned around.
En: Before them lay the valley, red and gold from the autumn leaves, a picture of silence and calm.
Af: "Ek weet dinge was moeilik," sê sy.
En: "I know things have been difficult," she said.
Af: "Ons het verloor.
En: "We have lost.
Af: Maar ons kan nog steeds as familie vashou.
En: But we can still hold onto each other as family."
