Description
Supernatural Season 9, Episode 6, Heaven Can’t Wait recap 🩷 Someone’s getting misted in Idaho, and it isn’t rain. Plus, Cas is employee of the month at the Gas-n-Sip, on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast.
Berly and LA are sipping a tweaked version of Nerdy Tavern’s Dean’s Pink Satin Panties cocktail (double the cranberry juice, highly recommended), which fits a very pink episode. Cas has reinvented himself as “Steve,” with a gas station job, a name tag, and what he thinks is a date. Dean has a case in Rexford, Idaho, and no interest in 24 volumes of ancient language research. And roaming the streets is an angel with a cross earring, good intentions, and a dangerously loose definition of “mercy.”
Episode Highlights:
- A pink mist in a cabin, and blood splooge #76 (the first pink one)
- “Steve” at the Gas-n-Sip, dressed like the guy from Blue’s Clues
- Kevin can only translate the tablet into a dead language, and “Don’t worry, we have all of them”
- Windows stained solid pink
- A teen gets dumped in front of the whole school, and a stranger with a cross earring offers to help
- A sheriff with great reaction faces, and a friend who’s “more upset than a C, less upset than her parents splitting up”
- Crowley gets one phone call to Abaddon (her blowout is fantastic), and Sam catches him at a secret hobby
- Dean preps Cas for his “date”: lose the vest, unbutton a couple of buttons
- Cas lands a surprise babysitting gig, and his deep voice soothes the baby
- A rose with a purpose, and Misha Collins’s alarmingly flexible wrist
LA thought Cas was adorable and so proud of himself. Berly loved seeing him lifted up after everything Naomi put him through, because he needed to hear he’s good at something. Both hosts loved the “George Michael” angel and his cross earring, and they wanted more of him and of the sheriff. The pink mist toned down the gore the way black and white does in a horror movie, so even a high school victim doesn’t feel as brutal. No chunks, just a nice fine mist. And Nora’s bowling outfit has the hosts asking: are there socks in that purse?
In the lore segment, Berly reveals that the Rit Zien aren’t real. Then she gets into who is real: Ephraim, son of Joseph, the one with the coat. Joseph’s brothers sold him into Egypt, and he rose from prison to second-in-command under Pharaoh. Ephraim’s name means “I will be fruitful,” and his grandfather Jacob crossed his hands to give him the bigger blessing over his older brother Manasseh. His tribe’s banner was black with a bullock (a steer, not the Oscar winner). They once left Egypt 30 years too early and were later resurrected by Ezekiel. Healing, mercy, and humility, cranked up to a tragic, broken extreme. Plus, more George Michael puns than anyone asked for.
“Why couldn’t he just dump me on Facebook like a normal person?” – Heartbroken teen
