The disciples were looking upward,
waiting for answers about the future.
But they were being called back
to the work in front of them.
Back to loving.
Back to sharing.
Back to caring for one another.
Back to courage and hope.
We may not know
when the world will finally be healed.
But we can still participate
in its healing now.
We can keep showing up.
Keep helping.
Keep becoming people
who reflect the kind of world
we long for.
