The Coconino National Forest plans to conduct the Upper Beaver Creek prescribed burn project north of the Clints Well area beginning next week due to recent favorable weather conditions. Should weather conditions remain favorable, the project is planned to begin Tuesday: Purpose: This project aims to reduce the risk of stand-replacing wildfire and create a more resilient forest, which is essential to lessening future impacts from undesired wildfires. Long-term, this project will protect people, private property and natural resource values by reintroducing fire into a fire-adapted ecosystem and reducing the accumulation of hazardous fuels. Date: May 12 through May 15....
