The financial records suggest something else entirely, and the gap between those two things is where this story lives. Between 2012 and mid-2023, $389 million moved through this organization by way of funding vehicles specifically designed to keep donor names out of public view. A 2025 complaint in Arizona alleged the group failed to disclose donors who exceeded legal contribution limits. Nobody went to jail. Nobody even had to answer for it publicly. And the money kept moving. What that money has been buying is the part nobody is covering. Republican senators who voted the wrong way found out quickly what happens when you cross this organization. A suburban family in Minnesota found out what happens when you show up at the wrong protest. And Black voters across ten Southern states are about to find out what happens when a $400 million machine decides their representation was never supposed to exist in the first place. On April 29, 2026, something happened at the Supreme Court that made all of it possible in a way it never was before.
