Af: Die wolke het soos 'n sagte kombers over Tafelberg gerol, onheilspellend en stil.
En: The clouds rolled over Tafelberg like a soft blanket, ominous and silent.
Af: Jaco, Mariska en Pieter het vroeër daardie oggend begin stap.
En: Jaco, Mariska, and Pieter had begun their hike earlier that morning.
Af: Hulle het geglo dat die vars herfsbries en die pragtige uitsigte die moeite werd sou wees, maar nou het dinge anders gelyk.
En: They believed that the fresh autumn breeze and the beautiful views would be worth it, but now things looked different.
Af: Jaco was vol moed.
En: Jaco was full of courage.
Af: Hy wou bewys dat hy sonder 'n gids die groep na die top kon lei.
En: He wanted to prove that he could lead the group to the top without a guide.
Af: "Ons hoef nie bang te wees nie," het hy geroep.
