The Things We Feed Eventually Take Hold of Us

Sometimes we give into our

anger,

fear,

resentment,

or selfishness.

Over time,

this impacts:

how we listen,

how we love,

and how we relate to one another.

When we hold tightly

to bitterness,

greed,

or hostility,

we lose connection.

Not only with God

and one another,

but even with ourselves.

“If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.”

— Psalm 66:18

The Psalmist understood

that what we continually embrace

shapes

what we are able to hear,

receive,

and remain connected to.
