Description

In California, investigators served a search warrant at the home of the mother of Kristin Smart's convicted killer, excavating her backyard after forensic testing detected signs that human remains had been buried there; Smart's family still does not know where she is, nearly 30 years after she disappeared. And in South Elgin, Illinois, on the ten-year anniversary of 17-year-old Kianna Galvin's disappearance, investigators began a forensic excavation at a home near the park where she was last headed, after ground-penetrating radar revealed anomalies beneath the surface; the man who lives there has never been charged but remains a person of interest, and Kianna has never been found.
