Story Transcript:

Sl: V bolnišnici je bilo živahno.
En: The hospital was bustling.

Sl: Spomladanski dan je prinašal svežino skozi odprta okna, kjer so cvetovi v dvorišču začeli cveteti.
En: The spring day brought freshness through the open windows, where flowers in the courtyard began to bloom.

En: In the long hallway, full of people in white coats and slow-moving patients, there was Mateja, a dedicated nurse hurrying between rooms.

Sl: Njena misel je bila na Zoranu.
En: Her thoughts were with Zoran.

En: Zoran sat on the bed, his room was small but bright.

En: The view through the window reflected nature's optimism, which Zoran did not feel.

Sl: Njegov svet je bil nenadoma drugačen, potem ko je prejel nepričakovano diagnozo.
En: His world had suddenly changed after receiving an unexpected diagnosis.

En: Now he had to choose between more aggressive treatment or considering alternatives.

En: Mateja was highly valued among her colleagues for her effort.

En: Nevertheless, she felt doubts about the healthcare system within herself.

Sl: Bilo ji je mar za paciente in težko ji je bilo gledati, kako je Zoran negotov in bojazen.
En: She cared about the patients, and it was hard for her to watch Zoran be uncertain and fearful.

En: She wanted to help him get the best possible care.

Sl: Toda bolnišnične politike so pogosto stale na poti.
En: But hospital policies often stood in the way.

Sl: Medtem ko je Mateja sedela z Zoranom, je poskušala s poslušanjem in prijaznostjo priti do njega.
En: While Mateja sat with Zoran, she tried to reach him through listening and kindness.

En: "Zoran," she said gently, "I'm here to help you.

Sl: Morda je diagnoza zastrašujoča, toda nisi sam.
En: The diagnosis may be frightening, but you are not alone."

Sl: " Zoran je zmajal z glavo, oči so mu bile polne strahu.
En: Zoran shook his head, his eyes full of fear.

Sl: "Ne vem, kaj naj naredim.
En: "I don't know what to do.

Sl: Nisem pripravljen na to," je dejal previdno.
En: I'm not ready for this," he said cautiously.

En: Mateja felt she needed to go beyond protocols.

En: "Zoran, I'm a nurse, but I'm also someone who believes in the power of hope.

En: Let me tell you a story," she said and continued with a personal experience about her friend who defied difficulties, just like Zoran now.

Sl: Zoran je hlipal, ko je Mateja končala zgodbo.
En: Zoran sobbed as Mateja
