In this episode of BC Food News, Jennifer English discusses a premier wine event coming to Toronto on May 12, 2026: the Barolo and Barbaresco World Opening (BBWO 2026). Located at the Liberty Grand, BBWO 2026 hosts more than three hundred wines from 166 Piedmontese wineries, offering trade professionals and importers access to the event in the morning and public access in the late afternoon. The event culminates in a public tasting of a variety of Barolo and Barbaresco wines and is co-hosted by the Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani and the Consulate General of Italy in Toronto. This traveling premiere event visits major cities globally and features advance only ticket purchases that include a buffet of appetizers.
