Published 5 days, 9 hours ago
Description

Whatever is going on in the Strait of Hormuz, tens of thousands of seafarers remain trapped, unable to transit the waterway.

We hear from one Indian seafarer who's been stuck for three months and the union trying to help him.

Then, as she delivered the third interest rate rise of the year, the RBA governor said this in response to a question,

'The extent to which government makes up the shortfalls for households by giving them more money, it makes it harder to dampen demand'.

So what is the government's response to the point that anything it does to support households makes the RBA's job more difficult? We ask the Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers.

And we hear about the government's latest attempt to bolster counter-terrorism efforts.

Recap the morning's news, politics and global affairs with the Breakfast Wrap.
