Mary Stenson welcomes Áine Blake and Patrick Dixon — Chairperson and Concilium Officer respectively of Deus et Patria, the Legion of Mary’s young adult initiative. They trace the Legion’s origins in a group of young women and girls in their late teens and early twenties, and discuss how numbers declined from the 1960s onward as secularism entered the education system and catechesis weakened.

Now, though, something is changing: conversions among 18–35s in Ireland, England, America and France, driven by Catholic podcasters and YouTube evangelists. Patrick describes street contact work that has brought Muslims and lapsed Catholics alike back to the faith — simply because someone asked. Anja shares her own route in: met by chance at a children’s liturgy, invited to help in the Regina Coeli hostel, and never looking back.
